Reasons Why You Must Drink Water Before You Go To Sleep

As easy as drinking water could be, unfortunately most people do not take it seriously.

Practically everyone knows the golden standard, which is to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of it every single day to ensure our bodies stay hydrated. However, many people fail to achieve this goal. Whether it’s because we are too busy and just don’t think about it, or fail to keep track of our consumption, it’s hard to know for certain whether or not we are drinking enough of it.

An incident of an after effect of serious muscle pull pain that happen to a family member of mine really motivated me to write this post. As during treatment, the doctor really emphasized the importance of drinking good amount of water daily especially at night.

The common belief that many people hold is that drinking water right before going to bed is disruptive of sleep. The general thought is that doing so will make you more likely  to get up and pee in the middle of the night. While this may be true for some people, drinking a glass of water before bed can actually help you get a better nights rest because it can help to prevent night time leg cramps. If you suffer from these annoying type of cramps you know how hard it is to get to sleep when your legs start acting up.

What causes the condition is that the muscles in your legs are dehydrated when they cramp up and are looking for hydration. Thus, a glass of water before bed can help to alleviate them, plus it also helps your body get rid of toxins and avoid a Stroke or Heart Attack.  So you see that the benefits of drinking some water before bed far outweigh the one negative, having to get up to relieve yourself, especially if you suffer from night time leg cramps.

In addition to a glass of water before bed, there are a few other ideal times in which you should drink water to maximize it’s effectiveness on the body, they are:

1) First thing in the morning after you wake up. Drinking a glass or two in the am helps activate all of the internal organs in our bodies.

2) Before each meal. Drinking 1-2 glasses of water about 30 minutes prior to eating a meal aids digestion by helping to prepare your stomach for the food that will soon follow. It also makes you feel fuller faster which can help you eat less and lose weight.

3) Before and after a workout. Drinking a glass at these times can help prevent dehydration caused by water loss due to perspiration.

4) Whenever you are tired. If you feel sluggish or exhausted chug a glass of water, it will wake up your body and help keep you alert.

Of course, you can always drink a glass of water anytime you’d like to! The points covered above are the best times to drink water when your body really needs it.

Your Pee is Extra Yellow: When there aren’t enough fluids in your body, the waste isn’t as easily flushed out, so it stays there.The reason this happens is that your urine is over-concentrated with waste. But”When you’re fully hydrated, the waste is easily flushed out in a more efficient manner,” says Greg Justice, a physiologist.

You’re Constipated: Our body needs good amount of water to help us digest the food we eat. Also,water helps move your waste through your colon and out of your body. “But if that water isn’t there to begin with, it won’t be able to move your food waste onward and outward as efficiently,hence the result is constipation.
